Bicycle Commuting Workshops for Women - April 6th

Tomorrow - Tuesday, April 6 - the  Community Bicycle Congress presents a workshop especially for women.  Whether you are an experienced or an aspirational bike commuter, this workshop will have something to offer.

Cycling with Confidence - we will display and discuss systems to minimize the risk of flat tires.  In addition, we will demonstrate how to fix a flat.

Cycling in Comfort - we will display bicycles and systems for carrying your work materials, clothes and everything from lunch to laptops. In addition, we will display and discuss ways to haul your kids (or to involve them in the hauling).

Cycling with Elegance - clothing for the time you spend off the bike.  We will display lines of apparel designed to withstand the rigors of an active lifestyle, to let you look good on the job.  Includes discussion of fabrics and how they function to keep clothing "crunch-proof." Besides these three focal areas, there will be ample opportunity for free-ranging discussion of individual concerns.

Site of the workshop is the Student Union Building, Farnsworth Room. Workshop is scheduled to run from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. and is free, open to the public, and open-door.  Arrive when you can, leave when you
need to.
