This ride is an anual ride, and in previous years has been a part of the treasure valley charity bike series, that is not running in 2010, but the Treasure Valley Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind is still pushing forward. Last year we had 450 riders, and would love to hear some stories from those who have ridden before, and love to see some new faces this year *smile*
The profit from the ride goes to assisting blind/visually impaired youth obtain scholarships, as well as to assist in teh training and education of those who have or are losing vision, so that hey can remain productive citizens in their communities and families.
Lunch is provided, and for those who pre-register free bike socks are also provided.
I had a blast last year *smile* with my first experience riding a tandum.
The chapter is always looking for volunteers to captain tandums, and if people would be able/willing to donate not only their time, but a tandum if they have one that would be fabulous as well, as we always have a handful of blind folks who would love to ride.
