If I were you I would go try on shoes at some bike shops. Find out which ones fit because some are narrower and some are more broad. Then once you figured out size and which ones you like, then order them off the internet. You will also have to decide if you want road or mountain bike shoes. Probably for your first set of shoes I would get mnt bike ones just because they are more versitil. (you can walk easier in them and you can use them for mnt biking too) Then you have to decide which pedals to get. When you got try on shoes ask the guys what kind of pedals that they like. I have only used the SPD (specialized) pedals for mnt bike shoes, as has Matt and a few other people I know, and I have never had problems with them. They are responsably priced. Hopefully that is helfull.
